Ian is now on a mission to find his brothers killer.
Characters in opening scene
In the opening scene the audience gets a big understanding of who the main character is. This is done by him being the only one talking, his costume, personality, the way he is in most of the shots and is the only one in the hospital that walks out alive and with no cuts.
Setting
The first scene is set in the main city hospital, that has been destroyed by Ian Shaw.

Representation of character
The main character in this scene is being represented as the archetypal male, this is because he is being shown in stereotypical male settings as well as his clothing and props he is using. especially in this opening scene he is being shown as the dominant person and has control over everyone. He is also shown as intelligent, strong, brave and competitive which are all male stereotypes.
Your research in to the conventional aspects of film openings is proficient. You have a strong understanding of the technical construction and how this creates meaning for the audience. Well done.
